Ordinary Madness - Walter Trout
I'm a big fan of Walter Trout's latest album 'Ordinary Madness' and this track in particular seems to be in my ears most days while I'm out and about walking around. I was lucky enough to join Walter and his band on stage in Leeds during his 2018 tour, a great guy and a great band with a really great new album.. Check it out!
Sailing To Philadelphia - Mark Knopfler
A song about Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, two British astronomers sent to the new world to survey the border between Pennsylvania and Maryland to settle a bet.
Also featuring vocals from James Taylor.
Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder
Love this song and I would challenge anyone not to smile as this track starts. The song was written in tribute to Duke Ellington, the influential jazz legend who had died in 1974. The lyrics also refer to Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. (Wikipedia)
Right Now - Jeff Beck
A superb track from Jeff Becks 2016 album 'Loud Hailer' featuring vocals from Rosie Bones. I really like the guitar hook riff and dirty guitar tone.
Sleep And Me - Charlie Speed
You may not have heard of this Yorkshire guitar legend - a really great friend of mine who we sadly lost this time 3 years ago.
Previous to The Charlie Speed Band, Charlie worked with his bands GYGAFO and The Slow Down Zone and was a member of The Roy Sundholm Band which also included additional guitarist Simon Climie (ClimieFisher and producer of Eric Clapton) Charlie also worked with Steve Phillips and Brendan Croker of The Notting Hillbillies
